I'm having a similar problem with refilling. I do use the adapter, since a cartridge won't fit. I still get skipping. I was going to chalk it up to a bad production run. Looks like maybe a poor design...

I ordered this pen to use in my office at home. When received, I installed the ink cartridge and could never get it to write. I tried everything but it never would dispense ink.
