In 1996, Delta presented the Pompei as its first pen crafted in celluloid with an unusual lateral lever filling system. The most characteristic detail of the Pompei was its “Pompeian red” color formulated to match the red walls of the houses of the ancient Roman City. After the collection was released, a sensational scientific discovery demonstrated that the true color of the walls was actually yellow. This news inspired Delta’s artisans to ‘rediscover’ Pompei and develop a new collection adopting the yellow as the base color. The result is an impressive, precious celluloid interlaced with antique black streaks.
