Tibaldi is commemorating 150 Years of the Red Cross Movement with a Limited Edition Pen. 2009 marked the 150th anniversary of the founding of the International Red Cross Movement. Henry Dunant was inspired to create the International Movement of the Red Cross after witnessing first-hand the brutality and suffering of war. Dunant was shocked to see that little attempt was made to provide medical care for thousands of injured and dying soldiers at the Battle of Solferino on June 24, 1859. The Red Cross is an international humanitarian organization that provides relief to victims of war or natural disaster.
